The Start of The Journey

This week was a really exciting start! I had my first official group meeting with my team, which made everything feel a lot more real. It was nice getting to actually connect with the people I’ll be working closely with throughout the program.

In CST300, I chose the topic for my first essay on industry analysis and drafted my outline. I decided to focus on B2B SaaS, which I’m really excited about because it feels like a less visible space with a lot to explore. Right now, I feel excited and curious to see what I find next week once I start digging into research and looking for references.

In CST349, I decided to go a little extra and dust off my React skills by building my weekly learning journal from scratch instead of using a simpler platform. That definitely came with some challenges, especially because I felt rusty at first, but I’m really glad I pushed myself to do it. It reminded me that even if I do not remember everything right away, a lot of it starts coming back once I get my hands back on the code. One difficulty I faced this week was knowing that by choosing to build my own journal, I am also choosing to fully maintain it myself. It’s a little intimidating, but I also think it is worth it. It gives me something more personal, more flexible, and honestly more motivating to keep up with. My hope is that my future self can also be proud of this journal as a whole, both for the memories I’ll be capturing and for the project behind it.
